Ayurveda

Having grown up with Ayurveda around the family table and with my passion for food, yoga and balance, it was a logical step to deepen and share my knowledge of Ayurveda with others.

Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic health systems in the world.  Before modern medicine began to understand the mind body connection, Ayurvedic scholars understood the connection between the mind and body.  "Ayur" means life and "Veda"means science or knowledge.  It’s a system that works to support the entire being holistically.

Ayurvedic principles hold that living a balanced life which is in harmony with nature promotes better health.  So for example; an individual with a healthy constitution living in a healthy environment, is likely to thrive and be well, an individual with a unhealthy constitution living in a healthy environment, may struggle with their balance at times and an individual with an unhealthy constitution living in an unhealthy environment, may continue to thrive but less well. Awareness of how we live, helps us on our journey to achieving that balance.

Ayurveda is based on the principle of three doshas.  They are based on elements and it is believed  that these make up every living individual, and when any of the dosha’s accumulates beyond the desirable amount, this can cause imbalance. Life experiences (stretching back to our most early days), everyday pressures, health and environment, all contribute to the potential for imbalance within the dosha and therefore to our mind body balance.

TESTIMONIALS

I had previously felt really lethargic and I now have a lot more energy and positivity.  I also used to suffer from excessive bloating which has now lessened. There has been a positive impact on my overall health and wellbeing. It has helped me to make lasting changes to my diet and lifestyle.  Ritu quickly made me feel at ease and I felt really comfortable sharing details of my lifestyle that allowed her to do a very in-depth analysis of me and provide a detailed plan. I would definitely recommend Ritu to others.

The initial consultation was detailed which gave me confidence that every aspect of my lifestyle was being considered carefully before I received my plan.  I have been following my programme for 3 months and am delighted by the positive effects I have experienced, with my blood pressure reducing.  Ritu is so easy to talk to and such fun to work with that spending time with her is always a pleasure.  I would recommend her services wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to make positive changes in their life.
