Having grown up with Ayurveda around the family table and with my passion for food, yoga and balance, it was a logical step to deepen and share my knowledge of Ayurveda with others.
Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic health systems in the world. Before modern medicine began to understand the mind body connection, Ayurvedic scholars understood the connection between the mind and body. "Ayur" means life and "Veda"means science or knowledge. It’s a system that works to support the entire being holistically.
Ayurvedic principles hold that living a balanced life which is in harmony with nature promotes better health. So for example; an individual with a healthy constitution living in a healthy environment, is likely to thrive and be well, an individual with a unhealthy constitution living in a healthy environment, may struggle with their balance at times and an individual with an unhealthy constitution living in an unhealthy environment, may continue to thrive but less well. Awareness of how we live, helps us on our journey to achieving that balance.
Ayurveda is based on the principle of three doshas. They are based on elements and it is believed that these make up every living individual, and when any of the dosha’s accumulates beyond the desirable amount, this can cause imbalance. Life experiences (stretching back to our most early days), everyday pressures, health and environment, all contribute to the potential for imbalance within the dosha and therefore to our mind body balance.
Ayurvedic Consultation and Support
Through a holistic health consultation where consideration is given to historic personal events, present experiences and environmental factors, a tongue and pulse diagnosis, an assessment is made of your physical health, mind health and emotional state.
You will be offered a supportive and personally tailored programme, to restore and enhance well-being. Plans may include; lifestyle changes, diet, Ayurvedic herbs, specific yoga poses and practices, meditation techniques and massage therapy.
My support focuses on your preferences and enhancing your current lifestyle. I’m passionate about supporting others to enhance their mind body balance in a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental manner.
